Trevor Noah is a South African comedian who hosted The Daily Show until December 2022. He wrote the memoir Born a Crime and hosted the Grammy Awards from 2021 through 2026. [1][2][3]

Biography

The Recording Academy records Noah’s birth in Johannesburg on 20 February 1984. He developed a career in comedy and broadcasting before leading the US television programme The Daily Show. Comedy Central’s account of his departure confirms that his last day as host was 8 December 2022. [3][1]

Noah’s Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood was published in hardcover on 15 November 2016. The book presents episodes from his childhood in South Africa; it is a memoir, so its accounts of private experiences are attributed to the author rather than treated here as independently established facts. [2]

He also hosted the Grammy Awards. The Recording Academy states that his sixth consecutive appearance as host, in 2026, was his final year in that role. The Daily Show, his book and the awards broadcasts are distinct parts of his public career. [3][1][2]
